This past weekend, my husband and I enjoyed a quick, weekend trip to Chicago. We had so much fun hanging out with our friends that we rarely get to see, and spending time with Heidy - ALR’s Chicago Editor! We attended a birthday celebration and after-party at two really cool spots that I would highly recommend, Barrelhouse Flat & Three Dots and a Dash. And, it’s not a trip to Chicago without eating at one of my favorite local hangouts, Big Star. They seriously have the BEST queso fundido ever – along with my favorite beer , Lone Star (which you can’t get in Nashville for some reason…) Next time you’re in Chicago, you absolutely have to eat there….the vibe and the food are both amazing, and I’m sure it will quickly become one of your favorite spots!
On Sunday, Heidy introduced me to Dose Market….
Such an awesome marketplace full of artisans, entrepreneurs, & local businesses. Chefs are sharing their local flavors, designers are selling their beautiful clothing, jewelry and accessories….Drinks are flowing, and a DJ is playing some great songs to keep your motivation up. It’s open every Sunday, so, next time you visit Chi-town, make sure and check it out! Below are some of my favorite finds from the market this past Sunday – Is it too late to tell Santa?
