I enjoy what I do at BECLOTHESMINDED because everyday is different and my days revolve around making women feel good about themselves. One of my favorite aspects of my job is when I get to shop for others, so I was thrilled when I received a call from Stephanie’s husband, Patrick. He had mentioned that Stephanie was in need of some pampering (aww!). While he didn’t give me much more to go on, having styled Stephanie for years I knew I would be up for the challenge.
Since Nashville has a lot of the same stores that Chicago has I wanted to send her items that she couldn’t get where she lives. Enter local favorites Edith Hart, vonZ, and Beyond Boutique. All three are in the heart of Bucktown, just steps from where I live. One of the great aspects of shopping at small businesses is that a lot of times the owner is helping you which means that you will be getting top notch service. When I walked into Edith Hart I was greeted by owner, Morgan Gutterman. She and her staff are amazing and really know their merchandise. I let her know that I was shopping for Stephanie, who she had met briefly when we did a photo shoot at her store in December. At the time we didn’t have time to shop but Steph was really impressed with Morgan’s assortment. I gave a little background on Stephanie in terms of her lifestyle, sizing, etc and we walked around the store and selected a few pieces to ship to her. Here’s on of my favorite pieces that we sent from Edith Hart, a jacket by BB Dakota.
After I left Edith Hart I went over to vonZ to say hi to owner Jenna Zielbauer and pick up a few more items for Stephanie. Besides owning vonZ Jenna also owns and designs for Cotton Candy Couture. She was showing me some of the pieces that just came in store and they were perfect for Stephanie. Here are a few of Jenna’s newest casual pieces from Cotton Candy Couture and are currently available at vonZ.
I had one more stop to make and that was Beyond Boutique. There I picked up a very soft black dress with cutouts at the shoulder (oohlala) and a high-waisted black skirt.
Stephanie added 10-12 new pieces to her wardrobe and the great thing was she could start mixing and matching and wear right away. When shopping at multiple stores it is important to take stock of what you’ve bought so far to make sure that you are creating outfits. If you’re creating outfits amongst the new pieces it will make it so much easier to then work in some of the other pieces in your existing wardrobe.
Being a busy wife, mother, and business owner I know that Patrick recognized that she would really appreciate a fun shopping spree but didn’t necessarily have the time to go herself. Since I shop for a living this was a piece of cake and so much fun especially since I knew how much Stephanie would appreciate Pat’s gesture and get a kick out of the pieces I picked out for her, a lot of which she wouldn’t have picked for herself.
